The inescapable combination of Krissy’s spellbinding and alluring vocals
tied together with Lady Kash’s unique flavored voice delivering
head-spinning rap vocals, equates to these girls definitely being a
force to reckon with and a heart-stealing combination!
In early 2008, Lady Kash commenced on a solo Music career in the Entertainment Industry. Later that ye ar in September, Krissy - who also happens to be Kash’s closest Friend - joined forces with her and the Duo went on to establish themselves as Lady Kash and Krissy from then onwards. Hailing from sunny Singapore - an Urban Island City State located in South East Asia, these young lasses have their eyes set firmly on the prize and aspire to bring their Music across to a Global audience! Not intending to stop there, they also aim to break barriers and bring about many new breakthroughs!
In March 2009, the Girls chose to follow their Hearts and to make their Passion their Career. After gaining the approval and support of their Parents, Kash and Krissy left their then on-going Diploma Courses in Singapore and made a bold decision to move to India on their own to pursue their Dreams. This move had many people around them questioning their choice of choosing to go to India. To which, Kash and Krissy would respond by saying, “We believe that one can make it in the Industry from any part of World. There should be no boundaries and there are no boundaries and we’d like to prove that! It’s one Industry as we see it.”
During the 2 years they spent in India, the Duo worked on many projects and expanded their contacts in the Industry while carefully planning and crafting out their Debut Album and a Promotional Album. Being well aware that one should constantly strive to upgrade him or herself to be all-rounder’s in the ever-vibrant 21st Century Entertainment Field, they also underwent courses in Audio & Music and now hold a Diploma in Recording Arts.
In May 2010, now 21-year old Kash and 20-year old Krissy accomplished an honorable feat by being the youngest Vocalists to contribute to the Theme Song for the World Classical Tamil Conference scored by 2-time Oscar & Grammy Winning Composer A.R. Rahman and penned by the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Over 60 renowned Singers from all over India had also contributed to the splendorous Anthem that encapsulates the richness of the Tamil Language, Culture and Literature down the ages.
“We are extremely thrilled and happy to be a part of this Anthem as Tamil is our Mother Tongue and India is after all, the Land of our Ancestral Roots. It was a humbling experience and an honor to work with so many great talents! We hope everyone enjoys the Anthem and feels the heart in it!” were the words of Kash and Krissy.
Later that year, the young Ladies further transcended all expectations and brought about a new breakthrough by becoming the first International Singer/Rapper Female Duo to contribute to Soundtracks in the Indian Cinema. In July 2010, they gave Indian Cinema and its massive Worldwide audience a fresh and innovative new sound when they combined vocals with 2-Time Oscar Award Winning Music Composer A.R. Rahman in the Soundtrack 'Irumbile Oru Irudhayam' (translates to: Heart of Steel) for Indian Cinema's costliest Movie ever made, "Endhiran - The Robot" which had been directed by renowned Filmmaker S. Shankar, and of course Musically directed by A.R.Rahman himself! The song rapidly became the People's Favorite and also went on to create a record by becoming the First Tamil Soundtrack Album to ever enter and top the International iTunes Chart - namely, the US, UK and AUS charts - that too, in just 4 days after the Movie's Audio was released! Listeners also coined the song the compliment of being the ‘First International Sounding Soundtrack for Indian Cinema’. To top it all off, the Movie starred the biggest names of the Industry; Superstar Rajinikanth and the Beautiful Aishwarya Rai Bachan. It also went on to become a Milestone in the timeline of the World’s Movie Industry.
"This is our biggest achievement thus far and undoubtedly a dream come true for the both of us. Working on a massive and exciting project such as Endhiran with the most admired personalities in the Industry, at such an early stage of our career, is a truly humbling experience and will definitely remain as our earliest most memorable mark of our Journey even as we go forward to more experiences. Being on a soundtrack with Mr. A.R. Rahman is a joyful blessing and something we have always visualized eagerly. Dreams do come true." exclaimed Lady Kash and Krissy, whom have now worked on 3 projects with A.R. Rahman.
Bonded by the same Dreams and Visions and having been inspired by the Arts since a very young age, this tenacious duo have taken the bold step to turn their dreams into reality. Despite having almost no Musical background at the beginning, they possess an overabundance of Love and Passion for all things Arts! Be it Dance, Film, Theatre and of course, Music! Eager to acquire as much as possible and to learn as they go along their journey, Lady Kash and Krissy say they prefer to always look forward to what’s in store for them in the future, with no looking back. Believing firmly that if one truly wants to achieve their dreams, the Universe will indeed conspire to grant his/her wishes, the Duo have set out to achieve and reach great heights.
Preferring to write songs that are inspired by their thoughts, feelings and observations, they feel that life offers never-ending experiences to write and sing about. Thankful for the talents that they been blessed with, the Ladies feel that music is one Universal existence that has the Power to unite People all over the World and touch hearts. They wish that their music would not only serve the purpose of entertainment, but also bring joy to listeners and allow them to connect with their songs and even find comfort in. Moreover, they also aspire to make music that’s positive and thought provoking. Leaving people with something to ponder over. Keeping in mind Worldly issues that we are confronted with daily in this fast-paced, modern World, they strongly belief that Music can help make our World a better place.
Currently, Lady Kash and Krissy are busy crafting out their yet to be titled Debut Album and a soon to be released Promotional Album which will feature a variety of original songs of different styles. Both projects are said to be completed and released by the mid of 2011 with the Promotional Album being released as a free download prior to the Official Debut Album!
With a quickly growing Global Fan-base, they are steadily on their way to becoming a World Wide sensation and a Dual-Feminine Force the Entertainment Industry and World has never felt before!
Back home in Singapore now, the Ladies are continuing on the pursuit of their big dreams and seem to have their eyes on the United States of America. Stay tuned!
