Switch, who’s real name Sasitheran Muthu, worked his way
earning a Diploma in Sound Engineer from SAE (School of Audio Engineering)
who’s currently working in a Recording Studio at Lackshaea Production as a
Sound Engineer. He has always been floating in the waves of music as he grew up
in a musically inclined family who are more into Carnatic music. He has been
learning carnatic but later found out that his
interests were more appealing to the Western music. Switch has worked with
internationaly known and local producers,composers and artistes as an Audio
Engineer and Mixing Engineer such as JIN the MC (USA) Composer Manikanth Kadri
(India) Srik (India) Adhi(India) Joe Flizzow (Too Phat), Dj T-bone Dj Goldfish,
Mc Syze, Lock Up, Hervin, Darkkey, Chakrasonic, Rabbit.Mac, and many more.
His hip hop path started by listening to casettes in his younger days, with the support from his parents, we have the well known MC Switch today, in the scene. Started off by performing in underground gigs around KL since year 2000, Switch faced alot of hurdles, struggles, backstabs, humilation and other sort of negative forces that were constantly pulling his musical career down, but with constant hardwork and self confidence, he made it thru the mainstream around 2005. Switch’s hard work finally payed off when the pioneer artist Lock Up called him up to perform with them in front of a strong 5000 crowd, which Switch personally noted that he gave them the best. Now he is the flaming proud new member of Lock Up, a group that made fabolous fame years ago, and still are and of course needs no introduction.
By influences, Eminem, Nas, Jay-z, Lupe Fiasco and the The Roots inspired him in a fair amount on his musical career. Lyrically he gets inspiration from Nas’ and Eminem . Swith is a rapper who does not freestyle. He likes to writing materials that people could accept and when he was asked about the way he flows, he simply answered humbly “It’s natural”.
