Malaysia : Haze Freaky-G

In the year 2007, Haze started performing on-stage alongside a popular Tamil Hip Hop group of that time from Malaysia as their newest addition. (No songs were released as a member of that group)

Haze's first recording experience happened when opportunity knocked the door where he was offered by Cresendo Productions Sdn Bhd to re-do their tele-movie's (Naana Neeya) title track in English (which was initially done in Tamil by MC Loga). Naana Neeya (Eng) was released in album : Naana Neeya The Movie Soundtrack.

In May 2009, Haze teamed up with Envy Nesh & Karthigeyan and released his 1st underground single track titled: 'Veysham' which was given out for FREE online downloads exclusively at MalaysiaMIX.com. Veysham was a huge hit amongst the youngsters and college students.

Later in December 2009, Haze released his 1st mainstream single track titled: 70's Penne for radio air-play in THR Raaga. 70's Penne gained him a great recognition in the local music industry as the track ranked #1 for (8) weeks in THR Raaga Malaysian Top 10 Hits chart and also have grabbed the #1 spot competing over Tamil movie songs for (3) weeks in THR Raaga Unggal 23 chart. Haze and his single track 70's Penne was nominated in (4) categories (Popular Artiste, Popular Lyricist, Popular Composer & Popular Song of the Year) in Raaga Astro Awards 2010 - Voting Lvl 1.

In July 2010, Haze launched his debut [EP] - 'Get Freaky!' which took place at Minnal Family & Fun Club, Federal Hotel KL. The [EP] was converted into full album and copyrighted to Alai Osai Productions. Get Freaky! - album is available to be purchased in all Indian CD / Music stores nationwide ever since.

In November 2011, a year + after the launch of Get Freaky! - album, Haze and his songs has bagged in 6 nominations in The World's BIGGEST Independent Music Awards - VIMA 2011. The nominated categories are (Best Pop/R&B Song, Best Hip Hop/Bhangra/Dancehall/Ragga Song, Best Hip Hop/Rap/Bhangra Song, Best Genre-Bending Act, Best Collaboration & Best Indian/Punjabi Act). Public voting for VIMA 2011 will be taking place from 16th to 30th November 2011 at www.bitemymusic.com. Results to be announced as per scheduled in January 2012.

Besides performing in LIVE stage-shows, private functions and events, Haze is also currently featuring in a hand full of other local albums & single(s).

Malaysia : Emcee Jesz

Emcee Jesz,the music producer and lyricist began to rap at the age of 18.with the emphasis on originality and creativity of Emcee Jesz,Yogi B lured him into Natchatra.The famous group Yogi B and Natchatra was born.Their first album called Vallavan was hot demand.Madai thiranthu and Indian Girls from this album was immediate and momentous blockbuster around the world. The overnight success of Vallavan rocked the tamil rap industry around the world,making Emcee Jesz one of the biggest music wonder story of 2006.Later Emcee Jesz work closely with all the big music directors from india and this took him to the next level as he appears in kollywood tamil cinema silver screen for the sound tracks that he performed which is for the movie Kuruvi,Laadam,16days and Masilamani 

Two years later ,the most wanted international tamil hip hop album KAVITHAI GUNDAR by Emcee Jesz was released on 25th may 2009 in Chennai,India.For first time ever Studio 8 production has signed our very own Malaysian rap superstar Emcee Jesz for the album KAVITHAI GUNDAR and this has set another Malaysian tamil music record,Emcee Jesz was the first Malaysian artist to get signed with a major label from India. In 10th October 2009 Emcee Jesz won the Most popular Artiste Award organized by the number 1 Malaysian tamil radio station THR Raaga 

Emcee Jesz has performed in many concerts and shows all around the places and performing still for all major shows, tv media and radio channels from Malaysia,India,Singapore and Sri Lanka.He also performed in London,Toronto and Chicago

On the other side of his achievements ,Emcee Jesz has got more that 3 million hits on Youtube for his songs

Malaysia : Viveck Chakra Sonic

Viveck (Chakra Sonic),born April 8, 1976, is a Malaysian hip hop musician. Known as the godfather of Tamil rap, Viveck has featured with artistes like Reshmonu and Datuk Siti Nurhaliza.He is a Tamil Malaysian

He currently owns a record label (DISS THA STUDIO) and music publishing company releasing their own recordings as well as those of other artists. Having performed in the local TV, Astro and interviewed in the Discovery Channel and BBC London, his songs were nominated for Anugerah Industri Musik for the song ‘Ulek Mayang’ and a song which is nominated yearly representing the Tamil Music Diaspora in Anugerah Era for the song ‘Sang Puteri’.

Since the age of 15, Vivek has an apt for poetry writing inspired by the diversities of Malaysian culture, and Hindu scriptures. He with his three brothers, Jack and Vijay formed ChakraSonic in 2002, a hip hop group which has built a massive fan base in Malaysia. His Kalai Oru Porr and Kodi Kelviyin Bathil albums was the one and only Local Artist's album to be approved by RTM6. Malaysia : Sheezay / Shevan Raj

Since the turn of the century, every local artist seem to have produced hip hop sensations, Shevan was trying to find his place. Hence Shevan Raj Yogaraja on December 28th in a small town at Rahang, Seremban. As a sheltered mother’s son, Shevan always exhibited a special quality for music, performing at every family functions, school and stage shows at the tender age of 8, with no prior music background.

He never foresaw the sort of opportunity that would later befall him. He was introduced to rap music in 2006 by afriend, and henceforth Shevan started pursuing his interest aggressively by delving into hip hop the following year. He took special interest and care in writing his own lyrics, penning it down creatively.Lady Luck flowed in, through courtesy of a fateful meeting
with Dr.Burn who immediately recognized his talent and potential, Dr.Burn offered him the opportunity to record his first single titled “Vaigasi Maasam” with fellow aspiring star, Stylomannavan in Dr.Burn’s compilation album (Zurazamhaaram) which led to the recording of another track titled “Ennoda Vaadi” ,in the same album. The vast experience of working with an artist like Dr.Burn spurred the spirits of Shevan to take the next huge step of forming a group aptly called DIWAN with his partner in crime Yuhan A.K.A Stylomannavan and in sync with the introduction to Kartelhitmen records through MC Switch.

Sheezay is currently set to release his second single from the debut album titled “State 9 : Kambathu Rapper” Thaipusam 2012.

Malaysia : Rabbit Mac

EARLY DAYS

RABBIT mac, an upcoming artist from Penang has made a name for himself in the underground scene and has break into mainstream. Being featured in many prominent albums with well known local and international artist, he has created an immense reputation for himself. A hefty fan-base and substantial support promises great prospects for this upcoming star. Rabbit Mac embraced his musical journey at the age of 13 in 1996. His main inspiration came about from his dad’s passion for music.

Since RABBIT was a small boy, his dad used to play various music’s and that has make RABBIT to love music and also the choir classes he lovingly participated as a boy. This is where he begins his career as a musician especially into hip hop and rap music. His favourite 1st tamil RAP was by A.R.Rahman’s Khathal Dhesam ‘Hello Doctor’ and Samba Samba by Noel James. On the English front it was Vannila Ice and of course Pac’s.

PSYCHO.unit & GRAVEYARD.inc

Rabbit Mac first started his professional music career by making remixes of both English and Tamil songs with the North Side’s underground labels, Graveyard Inc and PSYCHO.unit. Besides that, his curiosity to explore further on music researches made him hired by some of the leading pubs and bistros as an Emcee and Dee Jay for special functions, Hip Hop Shows n Gigs in Penang, Malaysia. The first studio album with extreme hard work and perseverance was produced in the year 2005. This album, 541 SIMPLY NUMBERZ, together with Mista West and D.J.Bluezi, embarked their maiden journey into the commercial world of music. The concept of 541 is totally different to what Rabbit Mac is promoting now. 541 concentrated more on Pop/Hip-Hop kind of genre whilst the group’s main stream focus now is more towards Rap and Hip-Hop.

With the success of 541 in hand, Rabbit Mac and PSYCHO.unit decided to release their brand new album called “Ma Carrotz” based on the Rap/Hip-Hop culture. However, due to the success of certain other local Malaysian artists, PSYCHO.unit decided to come up with an excellent marketing strategy to emulate the success of rival artists. The strategy is to come up the first Hip-Hop NMalaysian Tamil Underground Album. It also can be said a risk they took to enter the underground scene with an Underground Album in Malaysia. Many have released single tracks before but none have come up with a controversial underground album. Blog’s and websites also said that they were the first artist in Malaysia to come up with an Underground album.

RABBIT’s ‘PROVOKED’

This brought about the birth of “Rabbit’s Provoked”. The main concept behind the album was to educate Malaysian Indians about the spreading social plight nowadays. However this was done in no delicate manner. The extreme nature of this album is to excite or shock everyone so much so that everyone should talk about the album, the artist and the controversial message conveyed. This was to introduce RABBIT.mac in a way that other artists have done before. This proved to peak up to a height where 15 000 CD’s were sold in Malaysia in the years 2007 and 2008. It also helped to promote Rabbit Mac all over the globe. Strong fan bases started in Malaysia, India, Singapore, Canada and Sri Lanka through fan’s created website www.psychounit.tk and networking sites like Friendster, Myspace, and Facebook. The huge success of this album made Rabbit Mac and Psycho Unit to be known by many quarters as the concept of Provoked was so different than any other Indian Product that were ever launched. Sales of Psycho Unit’s merchandise increased tremendously. Moreover, fans and professional counterparts alike encouraged Rabbit Mac to come up with yet another masterpiece. In the grand scheme of things, Psycho Unit’s marketing strategy brought about the incarnation of “Ma Carrotz” which was long awaited and crazed for.

Apart from that, Rabbit Mac has also featured and worked alongside artists like Bionic Asura, Dhilip Varman, Mista Gee, Mc Phoenix, Haze Freaky G, Saran Z, Sugu Amigoz, Mc.Syze, Lock Up, Vassan, Sasi the Don, Nakeeran from Malaysia, Shabir from Singapore, Dinesh Kanagarathnam from Sri Lanka, DJ.Sathya, Christopher Columbus from Singapore, Srik from India, Charles Bosco from United Kingdoms. Featured and composed a Sound Track for India’s Jaya TV’s “Thuppariyum Pulli”. PSYCHO.unit and Rabbit Mac has also worked with a big time movie making company known as MIG Metrowealth by doing Sound Tracks for most anticipated local movies “Senario” and “Ngangkong” which was released end of the year 2009. PSYCHO.unit has also came up with their own clothing apparels called “PSYCHOLOGICAL” Apparels. They sold more than 900 shirts in Malaysia alone. They are coming up with Caps, Bandanas, Wrist Bands and few Designed Shirts of their very own Tamil Local Artists and Groups in Malaysia very soon before end of the year. RABBIT mac’s album MA CARROTZ audio launch, was released on the 25th of August 2009, in GSC Cinema Hall 3 Midvalley Megamall at 6.30pm with crowd exceeding 500 pax.
